Product Description

Copper sulfate pentahydrate (chemical formula: CuSO4·5H2O) is blue vitriol, blue triclinic crystal, easy to weather in dry air, lose 4 molecules of crystal water when heated to 190ºC, and become anhydrous salt at 258ºC. It is toxic. Soluble in water, insoluble in ethanol. It can be used for pesticides, harmful if swallowed, irritating eyes and skin, and can have long-term adverse effects on the aquatic environment.

 

 

Application

In the chemical industry, it is used to make other copper salts such as cuprous chloride, cuprous oxide and other products. In the dye industry, it is used as a copper complexing agent for the production of copper-containing monoazo dyes such as reactive brilliant blue, reactive violet, phthalocyanine blue and other products. It is also a catalyst for organic synthesis, spices and dye intermediates. It is often used directly or indirectly as an astringent and an auxiliary raw material for the production. In the coating industry, it is used for copper oleate as a poison for antifouling paint on the bottom of ships. In the electroplating industry, it is used as an additive for sulfate copper plating and wide-temperature full-bright acid copper plating. Food grade is used as an antimicrobial agent and nutritional supplement. In agriculture, it is used as an insecticide and copper-containing pesticide, and also an agricultural fungicide. In the breeding industry, it is a feed additive for poultry and animal breeding.
