Hyaluronidase is an enzyme extracted from mammalian testis that can hydrolyze glass mucopolysaccharides. It is a white or slightly yellow powder, soluble in water, insoluble in ethanol, acetone or ether. Odorless. The stability is good, the activity will not be lost by continuous heating at 42°C for 60 minutes, and 80% of the activity can be retained by continuous heating at 100°C for 5 minutes. It is easy to inactivate in low-concentration aqueous solution, and can generally be protected by gelatin or gum arabic to prevent inactivation. Fe2+, Cu2+ ions have a reversible inhibitory effect on the enzyme. Pb2+, Hg2+, Ni2+, and plasma had no significant effect on the enzyme activity. Inhibition of hyaluronidase by chondroitin sulfate B (dermatan), heparan sulfate, keratan sulfate, heparin sodium and high concentration hyaluronic acid in the presence of sodium chloride (0.15mol/L) or protamine sulfate can be reversed.
