It is a plastic processing aid which is made up of supernormal amounts of chemical additives, carrier resins and dispersants. Masterbatch is an aggregate obtained by uniformly attaching an extraordinary amount of pigment (dye) to a resin. Masterbatch refers to the granule material made by mixing various additives and fillers required with a small amount of carrier resin for the convenience of operation in the process of plastic processing and moulding, and after measuring, mixing, melting, extruding, pelleting and other processing processes such as extruder, the granule material is called masterbatch. Masterbatch consists of carrier resin, various fillers and various additives. The limit of additives or the content of fillers in the masterbatch is several times to more than ten times higher than the amount needed in the actual plastic products. In the moulding process, the proportion of masterbatch and base resin must be adjusted according to the content of the relevant components in the masterbatch and the amount needed to be added in the actual product. Masterbatch can be divided into general filled masterbatch (referred to as filled masterbatch) and functional masterbatch, such as colour masterbatch, desiccant masterbatch, pipe masterbatch and so on.
